2 weddings & Florida

We headed south and spent the past weekend in the beautiful town of Bradenton, Florida. Preston, Kaz, and I had the privilege of joining in a two-day celebration with my cousin, Mckenzi and her new husband Suke.

It all started with a new "first" to add to Kaz's list....this was his first time flying. He really did better than I could have ever asked! He earned his flying "wings":)

As soon as we arrived, the following day the festivities began. Friday, we got to be a part of the Indian ceremony and reception. This was obviously a very new experience for us....and we enjoyed every second. Some of my favorites were the colorful surroundings and clothing, fun music, and the dance party/parade in the street where Suke entered. The beautiful decor and indian food was another bonus in getting a chance at experiencing this amazing culture.

Saturday evening was the American wedding, which took place at a gorgeous Bed and Breakfast on the bay. Mckenzi was just as beautiful on day 2 :) and the wedding was just as perfect.

Kaz made it through the late nights of both receptions back-to-back...and we all made it home safely.

This weekend was definitely a memory and experience that I will never forget.

So happy for Suke and Mckenzi - you guys are a perfect match and thanks for letting us be part of your special weekend!

Fall Break 2012!

Fall break couldn't have come at a better time!
I'm all about some relaxation and time with my family:)

Our week started out slow-paced which I loved! Me and my boy got to wake up late, spend time eating brunch, watching movies, napping whenever we wanted, and getting caught up on everything FALL:)

We did make a trip to the park to feed the ducks with Kaz's BF Griffin and his mommy Lori.
Kaz didn't seem to be too scared by the ducks - he just quaked and ate their breakfast ;)

We finished the week by making a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. A couple of months ago I was introduced to a product called Nerium (an anti-aging treatment), which I loved so much I decided to start selling! It's not only fun but so easy that I am able to fit it into my schedule as a full-time teacher, which is an extra bonus! This company brought us to the Opryland Hotel for an awesome conference where I was able to have fun with my family/friends and gain a whole new appreciation for this new business that I have taken on.

Before and After - in just 5 days!

Before and After - in just 15 days!

But for now, it's back to the middle school grind until Thanksgiving...To a great Fall Break:)

17 months in FALL

Our sweet Kaz has done more growing, learning, and sleeping the past month! Now 17 months, Kaz is finding new things to get into every day...as well as new habits. He has found his screaming voice - and I hate to say it, but it is everything but "music to our ears". Hopefully he will get over this new talent very soon or I am going to need to invest in some very good ear plugs.

The past week, Kaz has spent sleeping long stretches over night and napping for hours. I hope this is not a sign of a growth spurt because we all know Kaz isn't lacking in the size department. Reflecting back on the last time his specs were taken - he was just at 30 lbs (100%) and 33 3/4 inches (94%).
Hopefully this sleep is all from teething;) Kaz finally has enough teeth (8 to be exact) to bite into foods with a little more texture than his pureed meals he lived off of for so many months. He still loves his fruits and vegetables....I am currently working on introducing him to more kid friendly meats.

On the developmental home-front - Kaz continues to stay dedicated with therapy working on those gross motor skills. He is doing much better with balance and it seems to get a little easier every day to be a support for him as he walks. We are in hopes in the next few months he will be walking independently. Prayers are so appreciated in this department - asking for God's hand and help in order for Kaz to gain the skills he needs to walk.

The past weekend was wonderful...spending time with my boys, friends, and family. It was so much fun taking our fall trip to Evan's Orchard and attending the Festival of the Horse. Kaz actually watched the parade this year instead of sleeping through it! He actually helped pick out a pumpkin this year, rather than only being worried about when his next bottle was:) All that to say, much has changed over the last year when we began our first fall together as a family of three. I have to say I have loved every season....even the not so easy ones when looking back on the life of our 17-month-old.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming week with my boy. With fall break starting tomorrow...Kaz and I have lots planned for our days while daddy is at work;)
