Alma Mater

Kaz and I spent the weekend with family in Tennessee, while making a trip to CN (my old alma mater). We had to leave daddy behind for weekend commitments, ie: church...but had a great time with everyone else. Kaz got to visit Jefferson City for the first time, which was my residents for the four years of my undergraduate college career.

What a great weekend to see some Lady Eagles softball! They won their double-header and played hard. Kaz got a personal introduction to the players and was a star attraction on the field. In between games I took him for a little stroll around campus showing him everything from my old dorm to the cafe....I even made a stop by my old mailbox:)

Speaking of Alma Maters...I'm so excited because I will have an addition to my list of schools very soon. I have just completed my very last final for my Masters tonight! I am so close to being done and so very thankful it's almost over! I'm looking forward to a relaxing summer with my boys - with no school on the "to-do" list! :)

Kaz's First Easter

Since Kaz is a little too young to understand the true importance of why we celebrate Easter...we did indulge in his first Easter a bit by... dressing him up in bunny ears and reading bunny books:)

After taking a peek at what the Easter bunny dropped off overnight...we suited up for church and headed out to hear the message, music, and see all of our friends:)

He loves his Sara (and the girls too;)
Kaz and one of his favorite boys:)

Later we had a nice Easter lunch and did a little four-wheelin with daddy:)
Happy Easter!

Vaca in Indy

We had the priviledge of spending a few days with our great "long-lost" friends Dustin and Kira (and Bailey) over our spring break week.
Since they left the state of Kentucky over 2 years ago...things just have not been the same:(
However, I will have to say it is so nice meeting up from time to time and catching up on missed time. We always seem to start off right where we left off...no matter how much time in between.
Now, things are much different because we all have an extra little one to add to the mix.
Bailey and Kaz had lots of time to get acquainted this week.

We checked out the Children's Museum in Indy when we arrived. There were many sites to see! Kaz found a few interesting things to discover along the way...

We were entertained with an amazing meal on night number two (thanks Justin) and spent lots of time talking around the fire and planning our next excursion together!

But for now... Just wish they didn't live so far away....

Good times with Great friends!

11 Months

The Kaz man has reached 11 months! Just 1 month shy of being a year old...he has accomplished so much and come so far since birth. I'll save the review of his accomplishments for the big 1-year post, but for now I'd like to concentrate on the major topic lately - that being - I am his favorite (I, being ME, MAMA;)
I love how his first instinct is to reach out for me! I love how he prefers for me to hold him over anyone else! I love how he even picks me over his always joking and favorite, daddy! Although his chubbiness isn't the easiest to haul around...I love being #1 in his little heart right now:)

As far as what's been going on lately, Kaz has been calling the shots. Since he's still not quite "mobile" he finds ways of nudging, pointing, leaning, whatever he can do to get us to place him exactly where he wants to be. He still favors anything that makes noise...his piano being first choice. He enjoys clapping anything, whether it be his hands or objects together. He loves "singing" along to funny songs - "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!"
He continues to devour anything edible and has started mixing in some juice into his diet this month.

Preparing for Kaz's first Easter has been quite entertaining. It's given me motivation and inspiration to decorate the house...with spring colors everywhere - including eggs and bunnies sprinkled in every room. We've made a stop to visit the easter bunny, hung the Easter stocking (thanks Guigui), prepared the Easter basket, and finally colored our Easter eggs! I sure hope Peter Cottontail makes a stop at our place;)

All this to say - I truly do anticipate the day when I can share with our Kaz man the amazing Easter story -  how blessed we are to have a Savior to die for our sins. I am thankful to have the privilege of sharing the story of Jesus and what he did for you and for me.

Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying." - John 11:25
