Bunnies Everywhere - Spring is coming:)

Our Easter Tree
I have always enjoyed holidays since I can remember. I grew up celebrating each special day marked on the calendar and participated in some "hard-core":) decorating throughout the year. It wouldn't be the same without spider webs strung out in October or Hearts scattered around for Vday.
I guess it stuck to me...because even as a grown-up I am now even more motivated to make a mess of get the house prepped for all festivities. (Side note: Preston hates it!)

I think now that I'm a mommy this decorating/domestic duty is even more fun. As Kaz begins to grow and take in the world....I am trying to brainwash help him to have the same love for holidays as his mommy (not daddy;).

The only thing that makes me sad is the fact that Easter is pretty much the last holiday for quite some time. I have no clue what I'm going to do through this dreary holiday drought until the 4th of July:(
As for now, I need to get busy figuring out how to make a lining for Kaz's Easter basket.

I love how warm the weather has been lately. Kaz got to experience his very 1st trip to the park with his friend Griffin this week. They spent lots of time on the swings and took turns at picking out their favorite duck on the pond:) I'm looking forward to summer break...and spending tons of QT time with my boys!

A Little Update!

We have good news on the helmet front. After Kaz's check-up with the orthopedic today...his head has added over 7mm in the "flat" area that needs to round out. That being said, he has made wonderful progress and almost reached the goal of 10mm of growth.

Since the helmet is ordered to be on 23 hours a day, we look forward daily to the short hour that we get to see Kaz's entire face (and head;) equipment free.
If all goes as planned, Kaz should have his helmet off in as little as a month from now when he returns for one final evaluation of his progress.
We continue to pray for positive results and God's hand over our little man and are looking so forward to the day of no helmet!

Happy Vday!

I was pleasantly surprised this morning, waking up to a "snow day". This meant I got to spend Valentine's Day with one of my two sweet Valentines (the little one;). Kaz and I had a great day...taking it easy this morning, lunch with daddy this afternoon, and then a trip out to his Papaw and Shasha's tonight for dinner.

Checking out his new Valentines books...
We found some time to put together a special gift for daddy. I think he was impressed!

Daddy's Valentine gift from Kaz:)
Preston gave me some beautiful roses. I've never been your usual fan of flowers, but there's always been something about when they come from HIM that makes them extra special. We had a great day together...nothing like having a sweet little boy and a handsome man as my Valentine!

Here's a little clip from my happy, happy Valentine...

9 Months and Counting!

Another month has passed and Kaz has now reached 9 months (7 months corrected). He has thankfully been cooperating through the transition of wearing his helmet, and beginning to act like it is any other body part that should naturally be attached;) After our first checkup 2 weeks ago with the orthopedic office...it looks like he will be wearing the lovely addition for at least the next 2 months. The positive news out of the appointment was the fact that his head is reacting and adjusting the way it should!

We have seen great strides made within the last month in Kaz's development! He is so much stronger each week and now much more interested in reaching out for things. He enjoys being in his jumper and scoots around in his walker on a regular basis. Books continue to be his favorite thing - "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" is at the top of his book list.

Jessica (Kaz's keeper) had a job offer last month that she couldn't turn down, which required us to find someone that we could trust all over again. We are so thankful to have two wonderful, nurturing ladies willing to take great care of our boy until I am out of school for the summer - Mrs. Sara & Mrs. Barb :) I know Kaz will miss Jessica...but he couldn't ask for any better replacements.

Kaz had a great check-up today with Dr. Hoddy. He is weighing in at 23lbs.(82%) and now a whopping 29 inches ( 76%)...all compared to same age peers - so he continues to defy odds in the preemie world on paper. Dr. Hoddy was pleased with Kaz's progress to date as well. He saw major improvements with his head and applauded how far he had come with reaching many new physical milestones.

It's still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that we will be celebrating Kaz's first year of life in as little as three months! What joy this boy has brought to our lives and we are grateful for everyday.
